I have a 03 SS, and ive been hearing my rockers on start up, the motor quites down after about 15 seconds of running. The problem is that the oil was changed LAST week. I think the dealership used mobile1 but who really knows if they did or didnt in the end.

Does any one else hear there rockers on start-up ?

Has any one changed what type of oil they use to a differnt brand, ive heard good and bad things about these engines using such a long life oil, anyone now if regular oil would be better for them ?

My car is always noisy on start up - I think it is a Saab thing.

I get my oil changed every 9000 miles by the dealer (scheduled interval is 18,000 but I like to drive fairly hard). I would caution against changing oil from the recommended grade, I am sure that Saab have tested the oils and approve it for a reason.

Rightly or wrongly I assume that Saab use the right oil. I don't know any better. I may start doing my own interim oil and filter changes, with the SAAB oil.
