Im looking to replace the stock clarion cassete deck with a Blaupunkt New Orleans CD reciever it has an ISO harness.My car has an amplified DIN conector.Can I make a harness that plugs the new headunit into the the saab connector or will I melt my aftermarket reciever?

could I use the connector of the the clarion unit becuase the clarion reciver only works part of the time...plus even if I sold the reciver I would only get like 5 bucks for it...

if i connected the new reciver into the stock saab plug would it work with equilizer(I like the blinking lights)

Put in an ISO. Buy an ISO adaptor and chop it in half. Then connect the wires from the car's harness to the wires coming out of the ISO sockets. Once you've done that then just plug in the new stereo.

There should be 2 wires for each speaker, ground, constant-live, live with ignition and (optionally - possibly not required) an antenna control wire (for the electric antenna)

The speaker wires will probably be paired up; they should be easy to identify. The ground wire will be black and you can identify the constant-live and ignition-live using a volt-meter (or a bulb) the left-over wires are for accessories (electric antenna ect..) and the stereo will work without them – but obviously it’s better to use them if you have them.

This link is a decent resource. Post any questions if your car has had any odd wiring done in the past - essentially, chop off what you've got any marry up the car side to the ISO colours as detailed in the link.

Easy ;) Easier if you're the first to attempt the procedure in your car :nono;
