Hi,

Whilst the car was getting a new short block I asked the dealership to have a look at a couple of other niggles.

The headlamp wash/wipe doesn't work which is mild irrantant rather than a major problem. The dealer have 'confirmed internal fault with DICE' and would like £253.28 to fix it.

What is the DICE? I am sure it must do more than work the headlamp wash/wipe.

£250+ to have working headlamp washers seems a bit steep. Is there any other reason why I should get the DICE replaced?

Are there any other short cut fixes to overcoming this problem?

DICE stands for Dashboard Integrated Central Electronics. It is one of many computer modules controlling your Saab and communicating with one another. According to WIS, DICE controls the following features:

-exterior lighting
-interior lighting
-rheostat control
-acoustic warning
-intermittent wiper, windscreen
-wiper, headlamp
-electrically heated rear window and door mirrors
-radiator fan
-air conditioning

It is a box located next to the set of relay under the dashboard. On LHD cars it is under the dash on the driver (left) side. Not sure where it is in UK.

Hope that helps
