My wifes '02 9-5 has some clouding on the upper portion of the headlight lense. I was looking into purchasing a 3M restoration kit to clean them up. Is there any downside to doing this, anything that I can hurt or cause more damage? I've used simular kits on other cars before with good results. I just wanted to make sure that there wasn't going to be something that I could harm by doing this?

As long as you are careful and tape off the paint surrounding the lens, there shouldn't be an issue. I used that same kit on mine and the lenses look good.

Hi
I did the headlights on my 2003 Aero. They were real bad, so bad I couldn't drive at night.

I just used 500 wet sand paper with an orbital sander. I dipped the pad into water and ran it over the lens, back and forth, until all the haze and fog was gone. Then I replaced the sand paper with a piece of cotton towel and covered it with rubbing compound and buffed it to a nice luster.

I took the units out so that I wouldn't have to worry about damaging the paint.

They look great now!
