Hi all,

I have a 1998 9000CSE with the Harman-Kardon radio unit. The other day I came outside to notice the radio antenna was up and the car battery was dead.
I did some testing and poking around and determined that the radio did not shut off when the car shut off.
Pulled fuse, charged battery etc (luckily I got the radio code from the former SAAB Dealer up the road) and for a few days radio behaves.
Yesterday, sure enough shut fof car radio stays on wont shut off even when I push the power button and antenna stays up.
Pull fuse, reinset fuse, radio off antenna goes down!!!

May just be the radios' on off switch misbehavin. Clean/spritz the switch with quality electronics contact cleaner .. Intended.. for pots. There IS difference in cleaner purpose formulas.

Hmm possibly, but it stays on after the key comes out of the ignition, is that normal?

No... key out and the sound system is Off... unless someone has rewired?
Ignition switches are a common failure item as our cars age.
Fit a fresh one? Reasonable probability that it would be a 'preventative' move...if nothing else.
Happily it's a ~15/20 min job once you have learned how to
