After driving on a pile of snow in the Northeast, I feel a different on making turn.
The wheel is so tight. And I heard drum sound sometimes when I make 90 degree or 180 degree turn.
I went to saab dealer this morning. It requires a diagnosis which I didn't do because there is no rental car available at the moment.
I don't want to sit there for the whole day to get it fixed.
The write-up guy basically tested drive my car and said the problem seems serious.
It may either be the center arm or the rack or some pin i forgot.
But he doesn't sure until the diagnosis come out.

updated:
Get diagnosis from a nearby gas station, the guy told me that is a pinion problem.
how much is it cost to fix that is reasonable?

you drove on a pile of snow? i'm not quite understanding what happened... did you run into a snowbank at speed, or just have some fun in a snowy parking lot, or what? The first thing i'd do is make sure everything isn't completely iced up under there, and that packed snow/ice in the wheel well or on the suspension isn't causing your problem

I didn't run into the snowbank, but my company parking lot hadn't been clear up. I skid in the parking lot the day before, ESP light on, that's the beginning of notice the steering problem.
I went to the saab dealer and the mechanic in nearby gas station, they all point that pinion is causing the problem.
I just wondering how much should be reasonable, cause the dealership say the fix may up to $1600.
