I replaced the neutral safety switch (NSS) on my 2001 95 V6 SE Wagon last year (new part from EEuroparts). Recently, the gear shifter began to feel "loose" when going from Park to Reverse. Sometimes, I'd end up in Neutral when I thought I should be in Reverse. Shifting into Park again and then back down, I could feel it lock in and all was well. But, it continues to worsen, I think. Once before, the top nut on the NSS became loose and I tightened it with satisfactory results--the shifter felt solid. Now, however, the "looseness" between P and R and N is back. The top nut is tightened to spec--maybe a little past spec.
Any suggestions?
Thanks all!
