Hi - I have a 95 CSE V6, just covered a huge round trip to Scotland in two days, about 1,000 miles in all (no jokes from the Americans please, that's a long way here!)

one thing i noticed was when going round motorway bends at speed the car felt very uncertain, a bit floaty, sort of leaned a bit to one side even though it seemed perfectly fine....just felt a bit uneasy. i am a bit more used more feedback from the steering and better holding in cars....

has anyone got any ideas apart from totally changing the suspension? i am looking for a bit more sure-footedness rather than huge amounts of alterations, not much of a budget to blow either.

thanks for any ideas!

Hi,

I had the same sort of issue when i fist got my CSE. At first i to didn't want to spend loads so just bought some springs (£150 ish) this did make huge difference.

It lowered the which meant the car didn't roll as much plus the stiffer springs helped with stability. Best advise i can give for a cheep change ;)

Assuming you have good tyres - try this lot:

Koni shocks, £350
Abbott springs £200?
SAS Rear ARB upgrade £140
Strut Brace £130
Poly butterfly bushes (powerflex) £40
1 Poly engine mount. Maybe a gearbox one too. £35

(Prices approx)
Nearly £900 but my god what a difference. You can nail it everywhere (should you be so inclined!) - v.small amout of roll, body always kept in check, understeer pretty much gone, steering works, no rattle and shake.

All IMHO!
