I have a silly question.

I traced the hose from the air intake hose all the way and it seems to be connected to a coolant hose :eek:

See schematic below:



I could be mistaken, as I couldn't really see or get to the junction to say that the connection is as described above. I can explain hoses A, B and C, but part D really stumps me.

Can someone shed some light?

That's right, section B serves double duty -- carries air from the valve cover to the intake and coolant from the heater hose to the throttle housing. But don't worry, it keeps the two apart!

Oooohhhh...

So, it's more the like this....

That's spot-on - the crankcase breather hose is joined by a metal pipe that runs through it from the water pump to the throttle. Meanwhile, the outer breather hose runs from the crankcase to the pre-turbo pipe.
