Hi all,

Does anybody know how I can get inside the front air demisting vent?

A small screw fell in, and I don't want to drive my car around in case it falls down a duct and further on into the air conditioner.

I looked around and found a few links for removing the walnut dashboard, but nothing for the demister vent. It seems pretty tightly attached. I have a 1996 900S (900NG).

I tell you what.. It's a damn good lesson to teach you about putting a tray of screws on the dashboard! ;oops:

Thanks in advance,

Adam

I think that all you have to do is detach the lower access panels and from there carefully pull out the ducts.

Hi earthworm,

Thanks for getting back so quickly.

I don't think the screw is that far down the bottom yet - but I suppose I could find a bumpy section of road and it'll drop down there after one trip around the block.

You sir (or madam) are a legend! :D

Are the ducts very brittle and require a lot of delicacy?

The ducts are quite flexible, but are constructed from thin plastic...so.
I was going to suggest using a fishing line with a magnet.:cheesy:
