Having recently installed Stage 1 PPC, I find myself agreeing with others' observations. It seems the boost gauge only goes into the red above 1st gear. This implies that there is a switch somewhere which tells the ECM or BCM that the trannie is in first gear.

Now you clever boys already know what I'm thinkin', dontcha?;)

Bypass that switch and you can really shred some tires in 1st gear:eek:

No go on this idea.
It seems older Saabs limited boost based on vehicle speed vs. engine rpms. I'm guessing that hasn't changed.
No gear position indicator.

My research also indicates the reverse light switch is probably on the transmission case. The shifter may have a separate switch which signals when the car is in neutral. Not even sure if that's required to start our cars, as I always start in neutral by habit.

The reverse light is on the transmission case, correct. Can't get the WIS to pinpoint it.

I haven't read anything in Turbo Control, Throttle Control, Torque Control, or anything control that suggests the gearbox is even considered when delivering power. Maybe it's covered in the TCS/ESP section, but I doubt it. I didn't see any line items for replacing any selected gear sensor.
