I was replacing my shear pin in the u joint and for some stupid reason I unhooked gas strut and now I cant put it back. How can I do that?
I tried opening tonnaeu cover (extending the mechanism) and trying to reach and put it back on but I am just barely short. In an old post I saw I can control mechanism with emergency procedure but I am unsure if it will work and at what point I do that, when the cover is up, down or in some other position?

Anybody knows?

Ok, I figured it out. I just took the whole mechanism down, took the shear pin out, extended the mechanism(using emergency method), put the strut back on, put the mechanism back on the car, compressed the mechanism (emergency method),aligned the shear pun holes, put the shear pin back in and that was it.
