So I have been car shopping for 6 months and test-driven a few oddities of cars and a few modern ones. One thing I find myself doing with FWD and even some AWD cars is comparing the handling to Saabs. (Ford Probe, Dodge Daytona, Ford Focus, Chrysler 200, Mazda 3, Mitsubishi 3000GT, Chevy Blazer, just to name a few). I think they might be the gold-standard for FWD cars. Has anyone else had this experience? Literally no other FWD feels quite right.

I don't know that they're all horrible. I drove a lot of different rental FWD cars over the last couple years. I'd say they're failrly refined, but almost always boring. Saabs kind of remind me of the the old Lamborghini equation of "Your life is in your hands and it might kill you, but it's fun". Saabs are a much tamer version of that., but it's the same theme : a bit crude, well engineered in some areas and atrocious in others; a little dangerous; but fun.
