Hi all

My 9000 2.3FPT is giving off fumes from the engine. Smells (to my totally UNTRAINED nose) like unburnt fuel.

If I drive with windows or sunroof open I get the smell in the car but there is a much stronger smell when I get out of the car.

Any ideas? I changed the spark plugs a couple of weeks ago - no difference.

I'm going to guess that it's not unburnt fuel but rather crankcase fumes. Check the breather hose on the rear left of the cam cover. The rubber plug can become soft over time and it doesn't seal well and can fall out. I used to be able to smell when mine had, particularly when stopped in traffic.
