Can you give some more input on what your car is and the current setup on it?

My guess is that you are in LHM (Limp Home Mode) and you will need to pull the battery cable and reset the ECU. How are you getting to 17PSI? MBC or what? Also check your Boost Pressure Control Valve (unplug the electrical plug to it) to see if on base boost you are getting 5.5PSI with no computer control.

But for sure we need more info on your car and setup.

Sounds an aweful lot like you split a hose somewhere. Do you hear any noise like hissing or wooshing that is out of the ordinary? Or possibly like tweek said maybe you lost the wastegate clip or your wastegate is sticking. Could also be that your stock Bosch recirc valve is starting to take a dump on you and will need to be replaced.

A bad bpv would make the distinct honking noise anyways. That is usually pretty easily identifyable.

we can't figure out whats wrong! we put a brand new dump vlave one it, nothing. put the smoke machine on it, no leaks found. checked the intercooler hoses, nothing. spring is still on the waste gate. the problem happened when i started to blow my dump valve off. it happaned a few times, when i hit full boost the dump falve just poped off. when i put it back on it was back to normal. then last time it happaned, when i put it back on, it didnt go back to normal. could the proplem be in my mbc+a???? it was working perfect up till then though. could the problem be in the dump valve?? the brand new one made no difference, should i get a real BOV and see it that makes a difference??
