Found the source of one rattle in my overhead console. Stuffed a folded piece of newspaper in the crack in the image below. Rattle gone.

Also found that the Onstar case was rattling, so I removed the bottom and applied duct tape all around the edges. It rattles no more. Might be a good fix for those with subwoofers.

This is a GREAT toolset for anyone who will be working on this car

How did you remove the overhead plastic cover?

Grasp the forward most plastic piece (the one that wraps slightly around the mirror). Pull down on the front nearest the windshield. It will pop right out.

Wish I'd searched for this thread 10 years ago- I'd be a lot less crazy.

Had to sign in and thank you for the info. This rattle has been driving me crazy since I got the car about a year ago and I was about to drop the entire headliner.
