Hi everybody,

Its been a while since I've been here, but whenever I am the advice is always spot on!! Now I've got another one for the Saab gods!!

I've got an ng900 2dr and have just managed to get hold of 93 viggen seats from a 2001 car :D

The rears and door cards have just dropped in fine but the fronts are causig a little more grief  .

The brackets dont line up with the exiting points in the floorpan. I was wondering if anyone has done this before or know of the best way to get them in apart from getting someone to manufacture new brackets for me. Are there brakets that would allow them to fit from another model?

Thanks for the help

Kyle

The exact same problem me and a buddy are facing with putting a viggen interior in his ng900. The interior came with rear side bolsters (sp?) that dont seem to fit. The contour of the foam is right but is the viggen wider than the ng900? But we are also stuck on the front seats...would 9-3 brackets fit on a ng900?

Same boat, I just hadnt gotten around to asking yet.

I always thought all these bodies were identical(GM900, 9-3 up to '02)..

Maybe not ?
But perhaps one is a two-door, the other a four door ...
Why not plug and drill as necessary ??

I would not mind fitting leather power seats into my '96 S with cheap cloth seats, but there may be too much wiring involved..
A shame, as in the junque yard the car in great condition, expect for minor blemishes(no front, no pack), with the windows open and rain upon the nice seats...

Welcome back Wilson(?!?!).

Howzit you only come around when there's a problem? Pop by once in awhile when you don't!

Certainly should have come here before you bought the seats. ;) hehehe

I'd love to trade seats with you EW if we could.
I still am not a leather fan.

hi guys,

yeah you're right there - the 9-3 runners are two inches wider.

guess i'm going to have to get some brackets modified as there is no quick and easy solution!

will post some pics when its done that will be the car pretty much done then - needs a bit of bodywork! some swine took a key to the drivers side!! cant stand idiots like that!!!:nono; and also get rid of the stone chips on the bumper and bonnet - there are too many now

How are you doing the wiring wilson? Did you already have power seats? If I ever find tan Vid's I'm definatly doing the swap. Except I don't have power seats so I'd have to rig something up.

Even with the custom fab on the seat rails, its soooo worth it!

Yeah i am also currently doin the viggen interior swap from a 2000 viggen into a 96 900SE. So far everything is in except for the front seats, well the passenger side is half in. I have it wired up but not working yet(hence the reason i asked if anyone has any wiring diagrams so i can check my wiring). The viggen seat has like twice the wires, but if you look at it half of them dont go any where and plus the 2 wires for the air bag which can be ruled out. Lucky it seems Saab decided to keep most of the wires the same colours. The guy i got the seats from doesnt have the viggen any more, but he is sending me the brackets from a 2001 9-3 wich will hopefully solve the mounting problem, and if doesnt, then there will be cutting and welding involved. I am defiantely going to have it done it in time for Carlisle. Have you wired your seats up yet?

for the wiring, well to get the seats moving, all you need is positive and earth.

but for the heated stuff there is more. for now i just want to get them in and working, i'm not fussed about getting the heating elements working. once all in and i have some more spare time, ill sort the heating out.

So i have both my viigen seats in now and working. The wires on the passenger side are all exactly the same colors as the ones that you need to hook them on the seat except for the heated seat power wire if i remember correctly. What i am worrying about now is seat brackets, right now the saab is just sitting in the garage with the seats held in with one bolt each.
