So i took my car in to deq today, failed with flying colors...

HC Pass level is 220, my car was at 1845.
CO Pass Level is 1, my car was at 13.7
CO2 is 5.4

Test was at Idle.

Check Engine light is on, pulling code 12223.

No vacuum leaks, going to check injector o-rings tomorrow, and replace fuel filter.

I have a full parts car that did pass emissons 6 months ago, already swapped the 02 sensor, didn't change anything.

Full tank of gas.. timing set correctly, spark plugs gapped how they should be.

What should I check/do??

If your parts car is an 89' 900 turbo then swap out the AMM. THe ECU could also bugger things, so if ur CEL does not go away try that next.

1989 is a unique year for the fuel injection system and shares it with no other year, frustrating I know. 89's also have troublesome idle bounce, random CEL, and a host of other small niggles that really can't be fixed without brand a new AMM and ECU.

:D:D:D Just got back from a test drive, blew a couple of vacuum hoses off :cheesy:

Swapped the AMM, no change

Swapped the ECU, older serial number--- car ran poorly
(I think the newer ECU must be able to handle a bad O2 sensor signal better)

Disconnected the 'good' o2 sensor, car idled and ran so/so

Swapped back in the stock bosch o2 sensor, BINGO

Boost actually pulls up in to the red quickly, before it would get 1/3 in to the yellow..eventually

So the new O2 sensor was bad,
along with the ECU, last three digits were 570, one off the parts car was 566.

I've learned one thing, never trust a new part that isn't OEM

THANKS FOR THE HELP!!!
saved me a day of anxeity :D

I'll post the good news tomorrow if my cat wasn't killed.

Just tell them you're doing your bit to reduce global warming. Every one of those HCs and COs you emit is one less CO2...

But most of those HC's are much more warming than CO2 :cheesy:
