I've been looking at the smoke style extra gauges as I fancy a boost gauge, but they do others too!

So in a double or triple pillar pod what would you chose?

  1. boost gauge
  2. water temp gauge
  3. oil temp gauge
  4. volt gauge
  5. oil pressure gauge
Cheers Chris

You've got an IC, so water temps not a consideration..less likely to brew up than standard. I'd go for....

1. Boostie gauge.
2. Oil pressure.
3. Volt meter.

I have boost gauge, oil pressure, oil temp. If I could figure out how to do it, I'd probably have the wideband air/fuel too. You have a voltmeter on your SID thingy don't you?

To install the wideband o2 sensor you need to drill a hole in your exhaust (some people do it after the cat, i do it before). Then you need to weld in a bung, install the o2 sensor into it, then just run the guage wiring into the car and mount the guage. Its extremely simple if you have basic welding skills. Also any performance shop even if there not Saab specialists can do this for you.

Also guys dont forget about exhaust temp guage. It can be a lifesaver for your turbo. Especially you guys running catalytic converters.
Also if you guys road tune i recommened getting the Defi guages with the playback box, that way if your road tuning you can do a run then stop and playback what the guages peaked at.

1. Oil Temp
2. EGT if it can be rigged as suggested by lovetoburn:cool:
3. Boost

My wrangler used to have an oil pressure gauge and volt meter. I miss those. I believe oil pressure is a must and boost is neat. As for the other gauge, I'd choose oil temp, but I'm completely stock so an EGT temp gauge and Wideband O2 sensor are totally useless to me. Damn it, I want more gauges than I'd have places to put them. :( Maybe I should look into one of those digital multidisplays.

Has anyone fitted an oil pressure gauge? How did you plumb it in?

Just looked at my Demon Tweeks catalogue..they have a t piece that comes from the oil pressure sender on the block, that way both the OE warning and the fitted gauge can work off the same sender. They have nice stainless lines that go from sender to gauge as well. Dual gauges are £150 each!!

I'm sure Wessy said that the starter motor (or summit equally technical) is in the way of doing that
