My '99 9-5 has been acting up lately. I get a bad case of skipping when the engine is warm, usually between about 1500rpms and 3,000rpms. It's kind of a stuttering or jerking feel, it's pretty bad.
From what I have read and previous experience, I have figured out 4 possibilities: Fuel Filter/pump, Direct Ignition Cartridge/plugs, Throttle Body, and Crank Case Sensor. But how do I figure out which one of the four it is? What are the different tell-tale signs?
I would most likely guess DIC, as this has happened before, but it's less than a year old.
I would think that the fuel filter would give me problems starting and while idle - this only happens when I am stepping on the accellerator.
I would also think the crank case sensor would give me problems besides when I was accellerating.
The Direct Ignition cartridge, from what I have been told, usually goes out suddenly. And why would that happen only under accelleration?
