Okay, my car is booked into a local saab specialist this wed in a bid to cure the vibration problems i have been having. Anyway, my mech has said that it may be a nice easy inexpensive fix but worst case scenario - engine and gearbox may have to be removed to faciliate repairs. I'm not too concerned about this as i have been quoted a reasonable (i think so anyway) top end price for this. So my question is, are there any other jobs that i should be getting my mech to do while the engine and box are out? the car has recently been serviced (less than 2 months ago). I just thought while it was out i may as well kill two birds with one stone. For your info the car is a MY92 C900 T16S 3dr with 134,058 miles on it.

(see it at http://www.saabphotos.com/gallery/ThorTheTurbo )

Anyway, thanks in advance for the advice/info

It's easy to change all the coolant hoses while the engine is out- if your hoses are still factory originals or look bloated it's a good idea to replace them. The timing chain is easy to replace while the engine is out too. My engine is still sitting on the garage floor  and before it goes back in I'm also replacing the crank pulley and the seal behind it, the oil pump o-ring, new belts, the engine mounts, and a new clutch... also it's a great chance to clean out the engine bay and get rid of all the old oil and road crap that gets in there over the years.
