So, after getting the '87 back on the road for test drives after a headgasket replacement, I've noticed that I have a sporattic (sp?) miss at low to approx. 1,500 RPM's. The miss also occurred before I had total compression failure, hence the headgasket. I only notice the miss if I listen or feel the exhaust pressure. It seems to occur randomly.

I was sitting in the car listening and noticed that my fuel gauge would bounce when it missed.

Could the miss come from an electrical short/bad ground, or is it the miss that is causing a voltage fluctuation. Knowledge makes you paranode.

Hi , I'd start simple . Check for a cracked plug insolator first .Then do a ohm test on the plug wires. Then double check the cap for crack. If you reused the plug wires one may have burnt out on the inside.
