So, I have a 2003 9-3 Linear 2.0L Saab and the ECU has started making the car run finicky: loss of acceleration until I get above 30 MPH then if it comes down, say stop at a red light, it will sputter and die unless I keep my foot on the gas. A couple of codes were ran on the check engine light, one being for the turbo the other for the computer. I had it in at the shop and they got the hoses and what not for the turbo all in order and that my computer is faulty. Not wanting to break the bank I'd like to get a used one. Now, back story out of the way; my questions are:

Where is my ECU located?
I was told on the engine itself, but I cannot find a part number on that computer unit.

How can I find a used computer that will fit my car?
I've tried finding a matching system with my VIN number, but can't find one for the life of me. That and I couldn't find a part number on the ECU itself.

Will I have to flash the used computer once I change it out?

Thanks for all your help, cheers

Its required to replace components and marry them to your car. The shop has to have one along with Saab software otherwise you are wasting your time.
