A couple years ago, my 2005 9-5 2.3t, cut off while my wife was driving it.

Could not get it started. Had no codes. Tried changing the ignition cassette and crank position sensor.

Took it to the shop and they said it started right up for them, after installing a new battery.

Looks like it’s happened again.

Shut off on me last night . Before that happened, got a chime like a new defect had been detected .

No codes were showing, except NA 01/01.

Which is strange, because there had been a code in it for the Mass Flow.

Could something be going on with the ECM?

How are you reading codes?

Could be a wiring issue somewhere, maybe ground. But it's impossible to tell for sure if it's that intermittent.

ALWAYS suspec\t the battery first. Charge it up fully with a good charger overnight and then try to start it Batteries are the weakest link in the electical system..........and somehow the last thing people check.

If the voltage is low the ECU will not work at all.

Charge the battery. Have someone test it with a load tester.
