So i was spring cleaning the Saab working on my rims to get this nasty build up of brake dust/rust stuff (btw if anyone has any tricks to get that stuff off besides using steel wool please pass on the knowledge). So i was going to jack the car up and take the wheel off to make things easier.

Went to pull the e brake up and the plastic handle just failed on me sending a few plastic clips flying and i think a small spring flying too (which i havent located yet) so now my handle barely stays on and the little black button to release the handle is limp and lifeless.

Now i barely pull my e brake up so i can release it with out it getting stuck or i just leave the car in gear when i park. Now to the question. Does anyone know how to fix this, had this happen to them, or any 2 cents to making my situation better?

Do a little searching, there was a recall or technical bulletin on our handbrakes. Maybe you can get it replace for free.
I'll check a little later and post if I can find it.
