1993 900 Turbo: convertible:

Will disconnecting the battery and then crossing the Negative and Positive cables for a specified time disarm the SRS Airbag deployment?

If yes, how long of a time frame should I keep cables crossed?

Remove the airbag.
There are capacitors in the SRS control unit and there's static electricity. It's never really safe to handle unless it's properly assembled.
Always keep the 'bag side', not the metal side, pointing at yourself. Never place them 'bag side' down when disconnected.
Disconnect battery for 1/2 hour, remove bag per manual. Do your repairs. DO NOT power up until it's all reassembled or you'll set a fault code that requires special tools to reset.

Jim, thank you for the guidance.
I'll research airbag removal in the Bentley manual and I will be sure to disconnect battery at least half hour. I did an R/R on a BMW and I was anxious the entire time.
