The red slide portion of my DIC connector is broken on my 2002 Viggen convertible. The part is marked with 4114013 but I cannot locate this part on any site.

Is 12788955 a replacement for 4114013?

What I am hoping to do is to remove the red slide from the new part and repair the current connector.

Thanks.

The entire connector is on sale right now at eEuroparts for $4.03
Search 12788955 on their site. Good luck!

Are the two parts identical?

Yes, I found 12788955 on the eEuro site. What I cannot verify is if 12788955 is a direct replacement of 4114013. Are you saying that it is?

Thanks.

It might be, but it might not be. The correct part number is 12788954, but that and 12788955 are both 10-pin housings. There could be a keying difference. The -955 part number is used on the 9-3SS in a few places.

If you go to EPC and your model year, and go to 3B Electrical Connector, it gives you a handy list of where each type of connector is used.

Since the NG9-3 has both of the part numbers referenced above, I assume they don't interchange.

However, if you search 4114005 for all models/years, you can see that that connector has been used in a wide range of cars, in multiple places. Find a junkyard car and grab a few. If you just want to swap them, the connector to your turn signal switch is the same one, and is much less likely to have been heated up, or worked often.

If all else fails a zip tie should work to keep it together.

Found the correct connector on digikey.com, part #A122784-ND / 1-963214-1. Total cost was just under $10, including freight, and the part was marked with the SAAB logo and part number. Switched over the connector and the Viggen is back on the road.

Thanks to all who responded.
