Hey guys...

I had my Linear broken into the other day (smased a window the *******s!!!);oops: while I was busy working away in my office less than 20 meters away.

Got me thinking about deterrents...

I thought it would be a good idea to have the dash LED flash constantly while the car is locked. My dealer tells me this is only possible where the vehicle is fitted with an alarm.

Who else reckons this is crap? Has any one done this? Any suggestions.

Thanks gang.

I am not sure about getting the car is locked signal but you can certainly do something like having it flash whenever the ignition is off. It's just negative logic and you can easily fit a relay to power that flasher ;)

Not got this problem myself as my car was supplied with an alarm and the dash top LED flashes all the time the car is locked and the alarm set. (probably due to the disproportionate number of thieving scumbags who seem to reside in the UK as compared to other countries).

Ive seen kits which mimic these alarm LEDS. they were battery powered and you just flicked them to on as you exited the car. there was no wireing to do as such, but you may need to drill to make the LED look more fitted. As I recall, they were really cheap. If your after a deterrent rather than a full blown alarm, this might be one solution.
