last night I moved my 06 9-3 aero about 1/4 mile. when I parked it, Ishut it off and let off the clutch and it started to roll so I clutched it put it in gear and let off the clutch again barely rolling. I tried to start it to move it back up in the parking spot, and it wouldnt start, just cranks. I pushed the valve on the fuel rail while my wife cranked it. it spit gas at me. I tried it again this morning and the first crank acted like it fired but then back to just cranking. I replaced all 6 coils less than 3,000 miles ago.

update: came home from work, shot starting fluid directly into the intake, no fire. is there a safety shut off for the coils?

fuel pressure test showed 55lb while cranking.

If no spark then suspect the CPS (Crankshaft Position Sensor).

I thought the cps shut down the fuel pump if it wasnt reading. would it still put out that kind of pressure durring cranking?

Fuel pump activation is related to key position.
Check ur tach if moving while cranking, it should read around 200rpm

it does read around 200 rpm while cranking.

Did u try to read codes from the car ?

coworker is bring me his scanner tomorrow. is there any kind of safety that would disable the coils?

No, but if u have a faulty camshaft sensor that would cause the same .
Does ur fuel pressure gauge fluctuate (vibrate) while cranking ?
