hi chaps new to the forum, just got a 900 turbo it has an intercooler, an apc box and a turbo boost gauge on the dash and its an 8 valve, so does that mean its a full pressure turbo ? if so is it 155 bhp ?.

and what would be the best mods to start with ?.

thanks

2 door 8 valves are quite rare - I've never seen one in the flesh. Yes, it's an 8V full pressure turbo, also known as a T8, and if you have the intercooler you should be on 155 bhp. Loads of mods you can do - just have a look round the C900 Performance and Mods forum. I'd do a full service and make sure it's running properly before doing any mods. Then do an APC tweak as per www.900aero.com , better brakes, new shocks and springs, get some nice Aero wheels, Front Mounted Interooler (FMIC), dump valve, silicone hoses, 3" exhaust, etc, etc...

thanks very much, i give it a nice clean today and i shall post some pics for you shortly.

its my first saab and i must admit its a blast to drive.

im looking to get a dump valve for it, does any one know which make/model etc will fit on these.

i noticed you say this model is quite rare, does that mean they fetch a few quid, if i ever put it up for sale id like to know a sensible asking price ?.

thanks again for the kind welcome :D

Forge FMDV004 or Bailey DV26. There is no dump valve on the 8V but it is easy to fit - do a search of the Performance and Mods forum on the words "dump valve" - also called an atmospheric BOV or Blow-off valve. Doesn't do anything for performance (except slightly quicker response on boost when changing gear) but it makes a nice whooshing noise when you change. If you like that sort of thing. Which I do :cheesy:

Since it has the intercooler, it's technically a Tii; a specification released in 1986: <--- Correction: 1985

Very nice car indeed and as you say, a two door T8/Tii is a rare sight indeed.

Wow, that is cool. We Yanks don't have 2 doors or 8v turbos(at least not since the mid 80's). To have both in 1 car would be like a freakshow to most guys here. That would be fun to have over here. Might even be enough fun to make up for driving on the wrong side.

The car in the picture has the later bumpers/lights, will this still be classed as a Tii ??
Indeed - the T8 with intercooler is the Tii specification.

I still don't know what the "third generation" turbo-charged engine is, though. I can only presume it means something along the lines of B Type (Gen 1), H Type (Gen 2) and intercooled H Type (Gen 3).

Coaldust - It's a fine looking car. Those sunburst style wheels work really well on the dark grey colour. What model year is it?
