So i was perusing one of the parts store looking for different things available for my car, when i came across a strange Cooler/Heater box in the accessories section. Here is a picture of it on the website since i don't think you can link to store websites in the initial thread post:

The part number for this accessory is 12799129 if the image is unavailable to view. I was wondering if anyone on this forum had one of these Cooler/Heater Boxes, and if so if they could express their opinions about the items and maybe upload some pictures. I would like to maybe purchase one but i was unable to find any information or actual photos of the product (other than the stock photo) to make my decision. The only information i was able to find was this how to install the Cooler/Heater Box .pdf instruct-able at this adress: http://www.saabdocs.com/English/instructions/12799129GB.pdf.

Any Photos, or information about this item is greatly appreciated and is welcome to be posted below.

Well it it is most likely a peltier junction cooler/warmer which have been around for quite a while. Here is a link to one at one of the larger manufacturers of these items. I am sure the one sold by Saab is made by a company like this.

If you check around they can be had for less than $60 + shipping for the part number you have shown in your post... if they are still available.

They are limited to how cold they can keep items, usually around 30-40 degrees below ambient.

I've used similar ones before and they work OK; whatever you put in there should already be at serving temperature (cold or hot) as they don't have a lot of cooling/heating capability. If you search "electric cooler" on ebay you'll find a bunch that are a much better value; it's not like the Saab one is custom-engineered for our cars anyways.

Thanks for the fast and helpful responses!
I think i'll take a look at some of the other available in-car coolers and heaters since the saab brand one isn't very different according to your posts. I was mainly wondering what made the saab one different and apparently it is just another example of a rebranded product. If someone had an image of one of the saab branded Heater/Coolers it would still be appreciated if it was posted.

Wow you guys are really fast with your responses!
With that being said, this is a great example of what the Saab version of the cooler looks like. This is exactly what i was looking for online but couldn't find using just the part #. It has the information of the product and a picture displaying the physical product itself.
Thanks for finding this so fast!

Here is a photo of the item on the website just in case someone is looking at this in the future and the website being linked is no longer available.
