Recently replaced the coolant temperature sensor on a 2002 9-3 SE Convertible and it seemed to work fine for about a month. Since then, the sensor works fine for about 12 minutes when it reaches normal operating temperature and at that time the needle completely drops to zero. If I turn off the engine and restart, the needle goes back to the normal operating temperature position. I have checked and rechecked the connection to the sensor. Has anyone run into this problem? Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

-Tim

Have you replaced it with OEM or aftermarket? Non-genuine parts tend to act weird sometimes. Also, try posting in 9-3/NG900 section. This one is more for SSs 03+.

Thanks for your reply. It was an aftermarket part. I will replace with oem from dealer and see how that goes. Sorry about posting in the wrong section. Realized my mistake after I posted. Thanks again. -Tim
