Got a question or two for ya guys. Need to take care of wifey's car since she's in the hospital for "some" time now so ..... here's the deal

1987 SAAB 900 .. non-turbo

What thermostat ? Is it a 180 or 190 degree one ? I need to know so I can get a 10 degree cooler one, the fan has been running a bit too much sometimes, and the relays cost too much. (Yes we changed the relays some time ago).

Radiator cap, what's the specs on it ? 13 lbs pressure or what is it ?

Oh before I forget, it's a California car, so yeah .. with traffic to the hospital and military bases .. can get hot here and sometimes sitting and waiting in traffic ...

eEuroparts list two different thermo fan switches for yours, the 92 degree and the 82 degree (I'm assuming yours is an 8 valve). I'm not familiar with Fahrenheit but basically you want the lower rated thermostat and thermo fan switch. You can also get expansion tank caps from them. It's worth checking the radiator is not blocked - if it is the original it will be past its best now anyway - and do a full cooling system service as outlined here.
