Their scanner didn't give any other details I imagine. I have a 1994 (OBD 1) and the scanner they have at the advance autoparts near me gives me some additional info about the code, ie "O2 sensor low reading" etc. Maybe if you got it read by a different brand of code reader you might get some other information.

What year is your car? I'm not positive which years do this, I know my 1994 does, but there is a way to read basic codes by turning the ignition to the "on" position without starting the car and counting the number of times the CEL blinks

P0143 is a generic code for "Secondary Air Injection Switching Valve A Circuit Open"

Beyond that I can't help you.

For other generic codes (second digit is "0") you can look them up here:
