I had a clutch hydraulic line failure this weekend on my '86 9000. After replacing the part we couldn't get the system to pump up i.e. there was no resistance to the pedal other than the return spring. We found that if we removed the hydraulic line from the top of the master cylinder and primed the master cylinder with a teaspoon or so of fluid, and reconnecting the line; we could get the pressure up. Repeated a couple of times and everything was good. This might save somebody hours of frustration.

The specified way is to use a pressure bleeder which as a small investment does make life very easy. Just connect it to a spare tyre, open the bleed valve and watch all the bubbles come right out. :)
