Hi

I have a 2003 Saab 9-3 Sedan and I'm having a problem with it and was hoping someone could anyone help me identify the problem I'm having. I have a clunking noise coming from my car. It sounds like it's occurring around the front passenger tire. I have removed the tire and looked around and could not figure out what it could be. Everything appears to be tight and in working order.

The clunk occurs when I'm accelerating and braking. It won't happen two time in a row if i'm braking. Meaning if I go forward and hit my brakes hard I hit it, but unless I do a hard acceleration it won't happen again.

What do you think it would be?

Thanks
Nick

I once I had a mysterious clunking under similar circumstances that for the life of me I could not locate. Checked the wheels, brakes, exhaust, etc. but nothing seemed suspect.

I found it one day when I pulled my toolbox out of the trunk. Turned out to be a hammer shifting around in the toolbox; if accel/decel was just right, the hammer would slide to the front/back and thump the side of the box.

You might consider checking under the seats/hood/trunk/glovebox/door pockets etc for something shifting around.

I had clunking from the right side of my car....just got it serviced and had the left and right side link replaced in my front torsion...they said the ball sockets were loose

it was covered under the warranty but was only a $250 job so it could be worst!!!
