So I know the clicking that reminds me of years gone by when barry bonds rookie card in the spokes of my bmx is a bad cv joint. Now I also have on bumps and imperfections in the road a pronounced clunk on the driver side. Should I think wheel bearings or ball joints?
After a search of the forum both are pointed to as culprits for things that go bump in the night.
Any help would be appreciated
thanks
Bryan

Ball Joint. Wheel bearings go <rumble>...

Fix it now. you don't want to have a ball joint fail on you when driving.

the bump /clunk could be the bottom shock rubber bush, they go and sound terrible but an easy fix, just buy new bushes, although some places tell you they are not available as they want you to buy a new shock PFS etc have them, original rubber or poly.

UPDATE:

Unfortunately I had to break down and have my saab mechanic install my new cv joints. With my clinical rounds in full swing I have virtually no time to turn the wrench these days. Hence my poor vert is still dead in her tracks waiting for a new alternator.

The good news was it was nothing more than a pair of bad shafts.
