Hi There,

Just want to share that Rock Auto has rebuilt Bosch starters on closeout for 90-93 9000 4 cyl engines for $20 + shipping. Plus no core charge. Just tried mine, much quieter than the one I just worked on while transmission was out.

Edited: Originally was not sure how this is different than a '94 on.... See that the 90-93 has through holes for mounting, 94- has threaded holes. Mounting hole locations may be different (or not).

I watch their closeouts closely. I just found strut mounts including the bearings for $3.98 each from them for NG900, bought two sets, AutoParts International brand, which I have had very good luck with.

They would be the same as starters for 1984+ c900's as 9000's use the 'second generation' H-block that has the starter on the intake side as distince from 'first generation' H block motors used in 1981 to 1983 c900's with a much bigger (to cope with the heat) starter on the exhaust side.

I don't think that's right. The '90-'93 9000 uses the B2x4 block, which is a straight four not a slant four like the B2x2 in the c900.

In any case, the 9000 uses the 477X starter and the 900 the 32X starter, so this will not work in a c900.

Might depend which motor. My 1990 9k carlsson has a B202, but you might be right that the B234 uses a differently configured starter.

Just ordered one as a backup, will make certain my original never fails, but at this price happy to have one on the shelf.
I agree! By ordering a backup, fate will ensure that the one on the car will never fail. But a fellow 9000 owner, Matt on the East Coast, said his failed without much warning so happy to have that backup.

Not true.
I had 1992 9000 which had B202i and 5 speed manual.

Are they genuine bosch starters or some aftermarket no-name just curious? I don't have a spare starter for my b202 9000 but should as it'll work in my 16v c900 too.

Are the 'genuine bosch' starters, alternators, etc. you see around these days made in China low quality or actually decent German, Japanese, etc. type manufacture?

Remanufactured OEM Bosch, good as it gets for a replacement if needed, mine arrived at my USA address today.
