Hi,
I have a 1999 Saab 9-5 . I was wondering if has pictures or knows of a good DIY for installing a clockspring. I have tried googleing it but didn't come up with much. I also found a thread in the 9-3 section that gave vague directions but i was hoping for something with a little detail. Thanks for the help!

I suggest you ask that question of the vendor you purchase the rebuild kit from. They should provide you with some details. I have to say though I was unaware of any "springs" in the Turbo. What are we talking about here GT15 or GT17?

Turn the clockspring very carefully to one end and then back to other while counting the turns. The adjust to the middle position, and adjust your steering to the middle position. Disconnect battery and remove steering wheel, replace the clockspring and fit the steering wheel. Reconnect battery. If there is a SRS warning light it needs reset with Tech2.

Btw V6 is a GT15 :D

I believe the clockspring in the 9-5 has four complete turns and actually should say on the part itself directions to turn until it stops (don't force it) then turn back two turns to be in the middle.
Removal and fitting are very straight forward, just remove the steering wheel (hint... when removing the center nut loosen it several turns, leave the nut on and pull the steering wheel out strongly to disengage it, then remove the nut and steering wheel).
Just start taking things apart and you'll be amazed at how simple it really is.

Good Luck.
