Hello Everyone,
I had a question concerning my 03 Saab 9-3 convertible. I was driving my car and all was well then the next day the check engine light with a exclamation point in circle came on but nothing is showing up on my SID messenger. The car drives fine so I don’t know what it could be. I Need Help Please!

SID won't tell you anything about why the Check Engine light is on.

You need to get your ODB II codes read. A lot of auto parts stores in the USA will do this, or you can get your own ODB II reader.

And while the car 'drives fine', without knowing what's going on, I would take it easy.

....and you're sure the gas cap is on tightly?

Thank you so much for your response to my question. I have check the gas cap, but I have been concerned about the check engine light and exclamation point in the circle light being in at the same time. I’ve tried going to the auto parts store today and due to the Covid-19 situation they said they wouldn’t be able to check it.

Exclamation point in the circle light is transmission fault light. You also have Check Engine light.
You should get DTCs read ASAP.
I drive no extra if those lights are on.

Sorry if this is a dumb question. Should the shop I bring it to should have the Tech2 scanner?

You generally need to find a Saab specialist to have a Tech II (with Saab software).

Check Engine light can be diagnosed reasonably well by any ODB II reader (including little bluetooth ones). Transmission codes, you probably need the Tech II. For other problems that might turn on your ABS, TCS, SRS lights, Tech II--but I hope they don't turn on for you!
