So sometimes my center dash goes dark: I'm talking about the radio and CD player's buttons, the AC panel buttons and the CD charger buttons, but not the various screens and the ashtray light (or the SID), these always stay on when that happens, so I was told the BCM is going bad. Easy enough to replace.

My question is: the key fob also occasionally won't work (somewhat rare but it happens every now and then like today, was working one minute, the next nothing doing and the car won't unlock, truck won't open, nada), which (when it does happen) forces me to open the door with the key, which triggers the alarm, which I stop by inserting the key fob into the ignition and turning it, and after that the key fob works again (which makes me think it's not the battery, it's happened throughout the years and if it was the battery you'd think it'd stop working until a new battery was installed). Could this fob issue also be a symptom of the BCM going bad? Thanks.
