Hi,
Need a little help with a 2002 9-3 turbo! CEL light came on while driving, cannot check for codes as cel stays on constant. Disconnected battery for 5-10 mins. to reset computer. Starts back up & operates with no CEL. My understanding is that resetting the computer erases any stored codes. My question is, if there is an engine problem should not the computer diagnose it again even if it was reset & the CEL come back on after start up & further operation?
Any help is appreciated.

My car is older than yours so take the following for what it's worth. My car is pretty finiky, it was in the habit of throwign a bad o2 sensor code, even after I replaced the $180 part. Then I replaced the spark plugs with the factory spec. Bosch plugs and torqued them cerfully with a torque wrench. The car hasn't thrown a code of any type since then. Not that your issue will be resolved with spark plugs, just that until you have other symptoms or can point to something specific I just wouldn't loose too much sleep over it.

FWIW.
