I have a saab 93 convertible 2 litre turbo on a 55 plate. i was planning
on removing my current cd player and replacing it with a cd/satnav combo. can i do this myself or is there a place in the uk that would be better suited for me to take it to be done.

You can do it yourself, it depends how good you are with car electrics and stereo wiring. Don't know how much you know about the stereo system in the 93, but you can't remove and replace the main control unit for the stereo system. Yhe only way to put a new head unit in is to remove the existing cd player below the ACC controls (which is what you say you want to do) fit a new head unit there and run a parallel system, which means wiring everything from scratch.
The long awaited instructions for installing a aftermarket sound system. some good info here, unfortunately most of the links for pictures no longer work, but you'll get the basic idea.
Steve.
