I've just received prices for a custom made stainless cat-back exhaust system for my '97 9000CD Eco Auto. Longlife Exhausts have quoted £389 for a standard size system (incl the flexi section) and £489 for a 3" system. So, a few Q's for the experts out there:
1. What size is the standard system? (2.5"??)
2. What improvement would I see by fitting a standard bore free flowing system?
3. Would I notice any further improvement on going up to 3"?
I don't intend tuning the car, as I think it has been chipped already. It certainly goes quicker than other 2litre LPT 9000's I've driven! I would just like to know whether it is worth the extra £100 for the 3".
Heres hoping you can help out.......

The standard system is 2.5" going to a 3" on a cat back only system will not give you much in the way of benifits, the down pipe in 3" is where you would see gains.

Or is the standard 2 1/4 ....can't remember:confused:
