The other night my car alarm went off for no reason.
It was parked outside at a friends hse (by the coast) and we were experiencing some pretty serious wind and rain - could this have caused it?
I'm thinking this is just a freaky occurence (I've never had any problems with alarm or remote fob before) but has any1 else experienced this, surely some of the winter storms in other members countries are more sever than ours down here.
Should I expect the alarm to go off everytime it rains or gets windy? :D

Maybe very high winds and heavy rain or hail could trigger the alarm, in the area of "glass breakage"... Go to the dealer, better yet an alarm place and see if the sensitivity can be deadened a little, maybe this is possible with the newer units.

I once had mine go off at a construction site I was working at. One of the roofers had released his nail gun from the compressed air hose. That quick hiss of compressed air was enough to cause the glass break sensor to trigger (I tried it a few times after to confirm that was the cause). I've also found whistling in front of the sensor will do it too.

If you know a storm is going to be coming ahead of time you can disable the glass break sensor by pushing the button on it before you arm the alarm.
