I am adding a 400watt sub to my car to power the speakers and im wondering will I need a capacitor for this? also im looking at getting a 10inch 800watt bazooka tube and would i be able to run both of these without a capacitor? or would I need to look into getting one of those?

you shouldnt need a cap for that. I have two 12's that pump out about 600 RMS a piece with a 1200 watt amp and my lights dont dim or anything when there hitn hard.
