Just saw this:

"....Canada and the U.S. remain different markets."That fact has been highlighted by a bureaucractic trap affecting hundreds of Canadians who bought vehicles in the United States made after Sept.1, 2007. Because of a new change to Canadian-only regulations requiring all imported vehicles to have a specific anti-theft immobilizer, those Canadians now find themselves with vehicles bought south of the border that are illegal in Canada. Different regulations in Canada and the United States has resulted in a ban on several vehicle models, including all U.S.GM vehicles.

Transport Canada has begun sending out letters to the vehicle owners telling them the cars they imported have to leave Canada because they cannot be modified to meet safety requirements.
