Hi. I'm new to the forum and would like to ask a question on behalf of my mom.

She owns a Saab 9-3 convertible (I think it's a 2001MY, which is just the previous model, not the new current one). Some $#%@& scratched the paint off of the front badge that's on the hood. How can this be fixed? Can the badge be replaced and how easy is that? If so, does anyone know the part number for it?

Thanks a lot in advance.

We used a badge(emblem) from a "junk" Saab for our '97; the one on my '96 is also paint-less.

These badges look good when new, but the quality is not high.
During a buffing operation, they can really be nailed; maybe an annual application of clearcoat would help.
Probably no junkyards in Greece; we seem to have one every 30 miles..

earthworm : Thanks for the input. We do have junkyards here in Greece as well, maybe not as many. If it was my Saab maybe I would bother to find one of those, but since it's my mom's who doesn't really care about such stuff, it's not really worth it.

This is such a helpful site, thanks a lot everyone! And for the record, I've already bought the badge and gonna put it on tomorrow. I'll be joining you whenever I need to discuss something about my mom's convertible :D.

Cheers!
