Hi all,
Just a silly question regarding how calipers are mounted to disc brakes:
When i see pictures of high end sport cars it seems as though most of the front brake calipers are mounted behind the axle (and often rears in front) whereas most road cars have them in front and rears behind. Sometimes they are down around the 4 o’clock position which makes some sense if trying to lower the center of gravity but I cannot think of s reason for the fore/aft advantage. Is it a center of mass thing?
Anyone?

The calipers may be located to keep away from steering and suspension linkages to the hub.
