Ok i have a 1999 Saab 9-3 turbo 2.0 and its a Cali car. what makes it conform to cali emissions and can i remove it? i bough the car and i live in texas. i want as much HP as possible and dont want anything slowing the engine down that doesnt need to be there.

I looked through the EPC and found the ignition/engine parts (ECU, O2 sensors, DIC, cams, heads) were either designated "US,CA" or not designated at all, meaning the parts are the same for all markets. My guess is that CA requires lower emissions than other states, and Saab passes both.
